Fresh and traditionally baked still-warm bagels filled with good things. What's not to like? Well, OK, a New York connoisseur might perhaps pooh-pooh the salt beef on the Guardian's sample bagel, but said meat, like the other components (tomato, red onion, horseradish mayo, on a lightly onion-flavoured bagel), has decent flavour, and it all combines well. For Â?3.25, it is money well spent. The "pizza" bagels, incidentally, halved and thickly topped with cheese and pepperoni (Â?1.85), look like the kind of guilty, filthy food that a man could get addicted to.1 packet trifle sponges2 measures Disaronno (aka amaretto)2 punnets fresh raspberries or strawberries250ml vanilla-flavoured custard200ml double cream, whipped50g amaretti biscuits, crushed "I don't mean to say it will therefore be an endless fountain of raindrop-flavoured kittens from now till St Swithin's day. But rather, in the same way that we've generally decided that the printing press was a good thing â?? and I would contrast that with television, which in my mind is an open question â?? rather than just saying in the panglossian way that all new technologies are an improvement, it is an on-the-balance calculation."The production of speck, a juniper-flavoured ham, is a tradition going back hundreds of years in the South Tyrol. If you head to the tiny hamlet of St Magdalena in the Funes/Villn??ss valley early in October, you'll find speck, speck and more speck as the annual festival gets under way. As well as a 533m table showcasing various speck from the region, there is also traditional South Tyrolean music, a farmer's market and bread-baking demonstrations by some of the area's best chefs. Don't miss the performance by Hans Mantinger â?? revered in the region for the virtuosity he brings to cutting speck while accompanied by an accordionist â?? and the contest to find the world champion speck slicer. On the final day, the Speck Queen is crowned. It's a large space, with an elegant warren of dining spaces out back, all slate floors and columns, lattice-work screens, knobbly bits of ancient Indian carved wood and the odd flash of colour. It's probably the most understated space in Blackpool. Mind you the inside of Liberace's wardrobe would probably be understated compared to most of this town. There is a more spartan area out front with the obligatory view over the gunmetal grey seas and the lights awaiting their illumination. The menu is long, but the food is marked by an uncommon freshness and vivacity. Our party was divided over the robustness of achari fish tikka â?? hunks of cod marinated in a pickle-flavoured yogurt masala, then roasted in the tandoor, though with care so the flakes still fell away from each other. Yes, there was a punch of heat, but not so that you couldn't taste anything else. Tandoori roasted prawns, although that slightly worrying shade of red that speaks of the colouring cabinet, were equally assertive. So we spoke to an eight-year-old and 10-year-old as well, who knew what shag bands were. "There were a couple of boys who were giving them out as free presents," remembered one, "and saying you had to sex someone if you broke itâ?? nobody told the teachers." (They also informed us that some of the latest playground insults are "you chocolate-flavoured condom" or "you rainbow-coloured condom", both of which will definitely be used in my next argument.)For the most part, the cooking is spot on. They serve mammoth portions of big-flavoured food designed to soak up the beer. Thick pieces of quality bread smeared with a big, sticky mix of ham hock and trotter burnished with sesame seeds is exactly the sort of the thing you would want to trough as you work your way down the draft list, all of which is available by the thirds of pints as well as halves. We drank something dark and smoked called Schlenkerla Rauchbier which, with the piggy toast, made the whole thing taste like a bag of Frazzles.A salad of Orkney bacon with soft duck eggs and spinach was underdressed but pleasing all the same. A sweet onion tart overlaid with a disc of very good goat's cheese was terrifyingly sweet, but alongside a glass of bitter ale worked very well. Mains bigger than my head didn't sacrifice quality to quantity: a huge, crisp-skinned chicken breast came with an apricot and almond stuffing and a classy dauphinoise. Better still was my burger: a serious piece of meat served thick and rare with smoked cheese in a soft, sweet but proper bit of bun alongside good fries. Curiously, a disastrous treacle tart was nothing of the sort. No matter. I drank an intensely sweet cherry-flavoured beer called Mort Subite Kriek to make up for it, a brew for people who don't like beer. It suited me perfectly. The vinegar-flavoured salt may be the best thing to happen to a fish and chip supper since sliced breadThe question has inspired culinary debate for decades. How do you sprinkle vinegar on your chips without making them too wet? We may have an answer: Malt Salt â?? a new vinegar-flavoured salt that US makers J&D's say will make your chips both salty and malty, but not "soggy as a Seattle winter".

Moreover, on the point of flavourings, Parliament has succeeded in ensuring that naturally flavoured products will not be completely disadvantaged in favour of the products of the artificial flavourings industry.
Ponadto w kwestii środków aromatyzujących Parlamentowi udało się dopilnować, aby produkty o naturalnych dodatkach smakowych nie były nieuprzywilejowane w stosunku do produktów ze sztucznymi środkami aromatyzującymi.
